New Mug Shots

E-mail Print PDF

Our collection of dog mug shots continues to grow. Many of the pictures you see are taken by our roving photographers, but two of the latest additions are pictures submitted by their owners. Our thanks to A.C. who submitted the picture of Oliver on his first birthday and to S.K. for the picture of Cadillac, a Great Dane puppy at age 1. Oliver's birthday is June 21st and Cadillac's is March 5th.

If you would like to submit your pup's picture for our collection of mug shots, the email address to send the picture to appears at the bottom of the page.

Dog Park Work Day - Saturday, May 16th

E-mail Print PDF

It's Time for Another Dog Park Work Day

It is time for another work day at Millbrook Dog Park, so come join us on Saturday, May 16th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Please bring your wheelbarrows, shovels, and other implements to help move mulch around the park. The focus of this work day is to spread mulch, clean up the grounds, and make a few minor repairs. We'll provide gloves and hand sanitizer, but you'll need to bring sun screen and water. Thank you for being a part of Millbrook Dog Park!

Note that the work day lasts 5 hours but that doesn't mean you have to be there the entire time. Come early or come late and give us as much time as you can even if you are there only to provide moral support.

We continue to need additional mulch moving equipment in the park should someone want to donate a wheelbarrow or potato fork. We also need items for the first aid kit and some durable dog toys. Donations of items or money are greatly appreciated!

Volunteers keep our dog park running!!! Thanks for any help you can provide.

Watch Your Speed

E-mail Print PDF

Speed Limit SignIf you visit Millbrook Exchange Park often, you are probably aware that speed bumps were installed not too long ago. In the past year, speed limit signs have also been installed (You are aware the speed limit in the park is 15 miles-per-hour, aren't you?) All of these measures have been introduced to slow traffic as the park has become more busy. Unfortunately, these speed control measures haven't been adoped by many park visitors. In some cases, the No Parking signs have also been ignored on a regular basis.

We've been informed by the Parks & Recreation staff to please be aware of an increasing police presence within the park. If you do not heed the speed limit or if you do not park in designated parking areas, the police will soon begin issuing citations.

Please watch your speed! There are many people crossing the streets and walking around the parking areas as the spring programs begin at the park. The swimming pool is open year-round, baseball and softball games are starting, playground attendance is increasing, and more people (and dogs) are coming to the dog park. Please slow down when you drive through the park.

Thanks to Work Day Volunteers

Dear Volunteers,

What an awesome job everyone did at our last work day (Saturday, March 7th)! The dog park looked so good afterward. We were able to clean up and rid the grounds of trash, broken toys, and missed piles of poop. We spread the majority of the mulch and filled in the holes. We also were able to clean out all water buckets and swap them for new ones. All washed down mulch was removed from the gate entrance between the picnic shelter and the large dog park and moved to higher ground.Moving mulch during dog park work day

The work day was a complete success! Congratulations and Thank You!

I have set a tentative date for our next work day to be Saturday,May 9th. Some things we will be attending to on this day are:

  • spreading all the new mulch
  • clean up of the grounds
  • swap out the buckets with clean ones
  • replenishing the first aid kit
  • any other small maintenance issues

As with the last work day, if you have a wheelbarrow, rake, shovel, or any other tool that might be helpful moving mulch during the work day, please bring them and let's keep our park looking beautiful!

If you would like to donate, things we can use are items for the first aid kit, potato forks, dog toys and balls.

I am extremely proud to be a part of such a wonderful group of volunteers and am thankful everyday for the park in which Chance and I can socialize. Thanks again everyone!

The most difficult part of maintaining our website is continually finding new material to present to our dog park population. We need dog pictures for the Mug Shots section, news, and information on upcoming events in our area. We welcome all submissions; however, we cannot guarantee that we'll post everything we receive. If you are sending in your dog's picture, be sure to include the dog's name, date of birth or date of adoption, and age when the picture was taken. Send your submissions to:
