Welcome to the beginning of another new year! This is also the time to remind everyone that the City of Raleigh requires a pet tag for all dogs and cats over the age of four months residing within the city limits. In order to get a dog/cat tag, you must provide proof that your pet has a current rabies inoculation. The cost is $7.00 for spayed/neutered pets and $14.00 for fertile animals. If you have not yet picked up your dog/cat tag for this year, now is the time to do so.
If you come to the Dog Park regularly, you may also have noticed that City of Raleigh Animal Control officers stop by from time to time and they may check to verify that people who bring their dogs to the park have current rabies and city dog tags. Please make sure that you have the proper tags on your dog when visiting the dog park.
Many vets in our area can provide the City tags. You can also get information online at http://www.petdata.com/cs/ral/index.htm
