Donate to Friends of Millbrook Dog Park
While the City of Raleigh takes care of major dog park upkeep, things like trash removal and heavy grounds maintenance, Friends of Millbrook Dog Park is responsible for the day-to-day upkeep of the park. Doing this work requires two things - people and money.

We continually receive loads of ground-up tree mulch which must be spread around the park. With so much activity every day, we cannot grow grass and dirt turns to mud when it rains. The mulch provides a natural ground cover that keeps down the dust and still provides a decent play surface when wet. It's not perfect but it's free.
To move all the mulch on a continuing basis, we need people for the labor and some simple tools -- potato forks and wheelbarrows. Our volunteers move the mulch from where it's dumped to locations all around the dog park that need ground cover. It's a never-ending job and we appreciate those who come to the park and move mulch on a regular basis. If you'd like to help in this effort, please do.
We also need money to pay for our number one expenditure -- poop bags. Friends of Millbrook Dog Park are responsible for the purchase of the poop bags supplied within the dog park as well as the maintenance of the bag dispensers. There are a lot of dogs that come to the park each week which means we go through a lot of bags. It is through your donations that we supply these bags. It takes about $11 to supply bags to each person who comes to the park and uses one bag every day of the year.
Your donations are also used to supply the tools we use for mulch moving and maintenance plus any other expenses such as this website.
Donations are made to Friends of Millbrook Dog Park through People For Parks, a non-profit organization, so your donations are tax-deductible.
If you would like to make a donation, please make checks payable to People for Parks and mail to:
