Work Day - Saturday, July 31

E-mail Print PDF

Our next work day at the dog park is scheduled for Saturday, July 31st, from 8:30am until 11:30pm (weather permitting).

As with all of our work days, we need volunteers for the following tasks:

  • General cleaning - pick up trash and anything else that shouldn't be left laying around inside and around the park
  • Mulch distribution - move mulch to where we need ground cover
  • Weed and brush removal - things that fall from the trees and isolated weeds that have grown up need to be removed
  • Tree trimming - clean out overgrown areas
  • Remove excess mulch from gate leading into the shelter and within the shelter itself

If you can spare some time and labor to help us keep the park in good repair, we would really appreciate it. One of the things we really need during the work day is more wheelbarrows. If you have one you can bring for the work day to help move mulch, it would be a tremendous help.

Whether you can work the entire three hours or for just a few minutes, we can use your help!

If your schedule permits, we hope to see you there!

Dog Park Maintenance - May 19th

E-mail Print PDF

DOG PARK CLOSED - WED May 19th   Approximate times: 8:00AM to 3:00PM

Millbrook Dog Park will be Closed for Maintenance on Wednesday, May 19th, from approximately 8:00am until 3:00pm.  Exact time is dependent on work crew's schedule.

The Raleigh Parks and Recreation Department will be performing routine maintenance in the dog park on  Wednesday, May 19th.  During this time, they will be spraying for weeds, so the dog park must be closed while they are working and for the appropriate drying time afterwards.

When the work crew arrives, everyone must leave the park. The gates will be locked until all work is complete.

Thanks to Raleigh Parks & Recreation for providing this round of maintenance in the park because they'll be taking care of maintenance items that our volunteers can't perform.

The most difficult part of maintaining our website is continually finding new material to present to our dog park population. We need dog pictures for the Mug Shots section, news, and information on upcoming events in our area. We welcome all submissions; however, we cannot guarantee that we'll post everything we receive. If you are sending in your dog's picture, be sure to include the dog's name, date of birth or date of adoption, and age when the picture was taken. Send your submissions to:
